Training Plans Focused on Road Racing:

 

We've taken the same great training philosophies and workouts we use to coach our athletes and created a series of training plans that can be done at various times of the season and are based around your current fitness and goals.  This allows you to create a somewhat custom season plan using our training plans as the building blocks to a successful season.

 

What philosophy do our plans follow?

1) Start by building a solid Aerobic Base, which is the foundation everything else is built on.

2) Move into early season preparation to start translating what was done in the base period into speed and race ready power.

3) Start working on Specificity.  This is when you will start to be able to try plans that focus on developing specific objectives like improving your sprint, time trialing, etc.... which can be done through the remainder of the season as weaknesses are identified.

 

 


Base Training Plans

These plans are designed for anywhere from the beginner to advanced cyclist or racer wanting to develop a strong aerobic foundation and improve endurance.  These plans are typically completed during the off season following a post season rest from the previous season.


 

Early Season Prep Plans

These plans are designed for anywhere from the beginner to advanced cyclist or racer.  These plans are designed as a follow up to our base training plans and to develop speed and the power needed to have legs race ready.  





Threshold Improvement Plans

These plans are designed for anywhere from the beginner to advanced cyclist or racer with interval training focused on developing a higher threshold power.  This is crucial when wanting to improve time trialing ability, the ability to make a break away stick, and be able to sit in a fast group ride or race with less effort.




 


Explosive Power Training Plans

These plans are designed for anywhere from the beginner to advanced cyclist or racer. These plans contain intervals focused on developing the power needed to launch an explosive sprint or attack and be able to do it repeatedly and consistently.






Power Improvement Plans

These plans are designed for anywhere from the beginner to advanced cyclist or racer wanting to improve their overall power across the board.  These plans are designed to build more muscle fiber recruitment, which in turn gives you the ability to gain greater benefit from plans designed at improving your sprint, threshold, etc....
