Training Plans Focused on MTB Racing:

 

What philosophy do our plans follow?

1) Start by building a solid Aerobic Base, which is the foundation everything else is built on.

2) Move into early season preparation to start translating what was done in the base period into speed and race ready power.

3) Start working on Specificity.  This is when you will start to be able to try plans that focus on developing specific objectives like improving your sprint, time trialing, etc.... which can be done through the remainder of the season as weaknesses are identified.

 

 


Beginner MTB Early Season Prep Plan: 8 Week

Are you thinking about trying your hand at mountain bike racing?  This plan will help you build the pre-season fitness to go into the MTB season with a strong foundation of fitness to continue to build upon.


 

Intermediate MTB Early Season Prep Plan: 8 Week

This plan is designed for someone that has some experience and existing fitness from previous road or mountain bike racing and wants to build a good solid pre-season foundation going into the MTB season.  Following this plan, you should be a little ways into your season and ready to start training specific strengths or weaknesses.



Advanced MTB Early Season Prep Plan: 8 Week

This plan is designed for someone that has significant experience racing several seasons of MTB or Road racing and has a very solid foundational fitness.  This plan will focus on taking your existing foundation to the next level, allowing you to build greater fitness through the season.  Following this plan, you should be a little ways into your season and ready to start training specific strengths or weaknesses.
